As often happens in the process of writing, I’m stuck. Bigtime. So I’m hoping a bit of blogging might clear up the pipes.
So far, I have first drafts completed of three episodes, and so far, I’m pretty happy with them. The challenge I’m facing with Episode 4, when I’m planning to really get down into the overall story: I generally hate the overall story.
After a little research, I’ve come up with a plausible alternate story that, fortunately, will only mean minor rewrites to the earlier episodes. I’m just stuck on a fairly major point to the new story: how the protagonist fits in.
Okay, it’s not quite that serious. I have an idea about what he’ll do from here, but I just need to figure out why something (let’s call it X) hasn’t happened to him. If X happened, I think the whole story would be a lot less interesting. Plus, I’d pretty much have to ditch Episode 3, which is so far my favorite.
I know I’m being irritatingly mysterious about this whole process, but since I’m still writing the scripts, I don’t want to blog myself into a corner.
More to come.
